Atropine sulfate is a medication used to treat a number of different medical conditions including nausea, vomiting, and bradycardia. In particular, atropine sulfate is used to increase heart rate and to control the symptoms of overactive bladder. The medication comes in the form of an injection or a tablet, and is typically taken once per day. Some common side effects of this medication include blurred vision, dry mouth, and constipation.
Atropine Sulfate Injection, USP (0.4 mg/mL) is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution for injection. Each mL contains: atropine sulfate, 0.4 mg; water for injection, q.s. Each single-dose vial contains atropine sulfate, 0.4 mg, in 1 mL of solution. Atropine Sulfate Injection, USP is an anticholinergic agent and antidote. It is indicated for the treatment of poisoning by susceptible organophosphorus insecticides and nerve agents, such as sarin, soman, and tabun. AAtropine Sulfate Injection, USP also is useful as an adjunct to the treatment of bradycardia and as a premedication to prevent or reduce the secretions produced during general anesthesia.
