Description
BD 364960 Vacutainer Specialty 8.3 mL Blood Collection Tubes 16mm x 100mm, 100/box
BD Vacutainer® glass whole blood microbiology sodium polyanethol sulfonate (SPS) tubes are used to isolate and enumerate bacteria from clinical specimens. The SPS tube contains a sodium polyanethol sulfonate (SPS) reagent that forms a stable complex with bacterial cells, resulting in their precipitation. The tube is then centrifuged and the supernatant is discarded, leaving the precipitated cells behind. The cells are then resuspended in a buffered saline solution and enumerated using a standard plate count. The BD 364960 Vacutainer Specialty 8.3 mL Blood Collection Tubes are designed for use with the BD Vacutainer Eclipse System. The tubes are made of polypropylene and have a capacity of 8.3 mL. The tubes are graduated in 0.1 mL increments and are color-coded for serum separation. The tubes are also sterile and latex-free.
BD Vacutainer® Specialty SPS Glass Tubes are intended to help facilitate dependable whole blood microbiology testing. The Tube contains 1.7 mL of additive solution that consists of 0.35% Sodium Polyanethol Sulfonate (SPS) in 0.85% Sodium Chloride. It has a 8.3 mL draw volume and measures 16 x 100 mm. The Tube features a conventional stopper color coded in yellow and a see thru label.
