Ivermectin (Stromectol) is used for treatment for other parasitic infections including Hookworms (Ancylostoma braziliense), Large roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), Scabies Itch mite (Sarcoptes scabiei), Parasitic nematode (Griathostoma spinigerum), Parasites (Mansonella ozzardi), Human parasitic roundworms (Mansonella streptocerca), Head lice infestation (Pediculus humanus capitis), Body and Pubic lice infestation (Pediculus humanus corporis), Crab Lice (Phthirus pubis), Human whipworm (Trichuris trichiura), and Human parasitic roundworms (Wucheria bancrofti).
Ivermectin 3 mg Tablets is used to treat certain parasitic roundworm infections. Curing parasitic infections helps to improve your quality of life. In people with weakened defense (immune) systems, curing roundworm infections can reduce the risk of developing a severe or life-threatening infection.
Ivermectinis a semisynthetic anthelminthic agent; it binds selectively and with strong affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels which occur in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This leads to increased permeability of cell membranes to chloride ions then hyperpolarization pf the nerve or muscle cell, and death of the parasite.
