Baloxavir Marboxil is a highly potent, selective, and orally available inhibitor of the influenza virus neuraminidase. It is effective against both influenza A and B viruses. In Phase III clinical trials, Baloxavir Marboxil was found to be superior to oseltamivir (Tamiflu) in reducing the duration of illness by about 1 day. The mechanism of action of Baloxavir Marboxil is inhibition of the release of progeny virus from infected cells, thereby reducing viral replication.
XOFLUZA 20 mg Tablets are white to light yellow, oblong shaped film-coated tablets debossed with “772” on one side and “20” on the other side.
