Bleomycin for Injection is a chemotherapy drug used to treat various types of cancer. It is a type of antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of cancer cells.
Bleomycin for Injection USP 15 Units Per Vial, Single-Dose Vial. Bleomycin is also used to treat Hodgkin’s lymphoma (Hodgkin’s disease) and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer that begins in the cells of the immune system) in combination with other medications. It is also used to treat pleural effusions (a condition when fluid collects in the lungs) that are caused by cancerous tumors.
Bleomycin for Injection, USP should be considered a palliative treatment. Bleomycin belongs to the general group of medicines called antineoplastics. It is used to treat several types of cancer, including cervix and uterus cancer, head and neck cancer, testicle and penile cancer, and certain types of lymphoma. Bleomycin also may used for other conditions.
Bleomycin for Injection may be given by the intramuscular, intravenous or subcutaneous routes. The Bleomycin for Injection, USP 15 units vial should be reconstituted and dissolved with 1 to 5 mL of Sterile Water for Injection, Sodium Chloride for Injection, 0.9%, USP, or Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP.
