Description
Dobbhoff Naso-Jejunal Feeding Gastric Decompression Tube
Kendall Dobbhoff Naso-Jejunal Feeding and Gastric Decompression Tube is a 16 french feeding tube made for patients who require short term gastric decompression and jejunal feeding and medicating. Made with radiopaque polyurethane material for clear viewing on x-rays and Fluoroscopys, this tube is also MRI conditional once the stylet is removed. It is easily inserted over the guidewire for trouble-free, accurate placement, allows the healthcare professional to adjust the length to better suit the patient, and features spiral feeding outlet holes for optimal flow.
How does the Dobbhoff gastric tubing work?
The Dobbhoff GI tube is great for administering nutrition, fluids and medications through the nasal cavity and into the stomach for patients who physically cannot manage nutrition orally. The red port on the tube accesses the stomach lumen for gastric suction and irrigation, while the blue port access the jejunal lumen for jejunal feeding and medication. Included with this GI tube is an oral-nasal transfer cannula that facilitates guidewire transfer from the oral to nasal route as the Hydromer grafted gastric and jejunal tube lumens allow smooth movement between tubes and over the guidewire. The outer lumen of the tubing suctions and decompress the stomach through the red port marked “suction.” The jejunal tube is designed to create a smooth flow and actually reduce the risk of clogging for easier and more patient-friendly use.
