It is used to temporarily relieve pain due to local skin irritations, muscle aches, toothaches, and sore throats. Lidocaine 2% Injection Prefilled Syringes Luer-Jet 5 mL by International Medication Systems is also used to reduce swelling before certain medical procedures.

2% lidocaine hydrochloride in a prefilled syringe is a formulation used for the infiltration and block of peripheral nerves. It is also used as a local anesthetic. The onset of action is approximately 1 minute after injection. The duration of action is approximately 30 minutes.
